Planned Giving and Leaving a Legacy for a gift for the future:

A Little Help Can Go A Long Way

A Reason to Give:

There is no typical human being and the same is true for the people served by Prescott Meals On Wheels. Each person we serve is unique and living with their own personal set of circumstances. On a daily basis we deliver meals to seniors and the disabled who have contributed greatly to their community and their country but now find themselves in a situation where they can no longer shop for or prepare food for health and safety reasons.

You are the future of the Prescott Meals On Wheels. Your investment in our organization, our mission and those we serve, in large measure, paves the way for future sustainability and service to the community. We can only speculate on future demand and resources but we know that right now 32% of Prescott's population and 23% of Prescott Valley are 65 or older and these are the people we will be serving in the years to come.

  • Of all the people who have lived to age 65 in the history of the world, more than half are alive now!
  • The numbers of persons over fifty are skyrocketing. The 76 million Americans born between 1946 and 1964 will nearly double the number of 50 to 64 year olds to 59 million in the year 2020!
  • In 1960 there were 940,000 Americans 85 years old or older. Today that figure is 3.1 million and by 2020 will reach 5.4 million.
  • A surprising fact found in a study commissioned by the Meals on Wheels Association of America; seniors in the age range of 60-64 are most likely to be at risk of food insecurity!

Prescott Meals On Wheels invites you to become a member of our Legacy Gift Program and help expand our work through a future gift in your estate plan. Prescott Meals On Wheels honors every planned gift to restricted or unrestricted funds. Our Endowment Funds are managed and held by Arizona Community Foundation (in cooperation with Arizona Community Foundation of Yavapai County) and Stratos Financial. Planned giving is an easy way to support our Endowment Fund, as well as making a specified tax-deductible donation, knowing you are helping to maintain a sustainable nutritious meal for those who need it the most. It is always recommended that donors seek professional tax, legal and financial advice and guidance when preparing a Bequest, Will or Trust.
